Recovery Warrior Yoga promotes clean and sober living through yoga practices designed to support and enhance 12 Step Recovery Programs. I am a grateful recovering alcoholic and addict and also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500). Through my own struggles with the disease of addiction and the challenges of getting clean and sober I have found that yoga works amazingly well in developing and maintaining a healthy Mind-Body-Soul balance to support living to your fullest potential in recovery while closely aligning to the philosophy of 12 Step programs. I offer yoga practices in the following styles.

Recovery Warrior Yoga combines the Kripalu Yoga tenants of compassionate, nonjudgmental self-awareness with gentle yoga posture sequences designed to bring balance to the five elements of nature and the seven primary chakras, or energy centers, within each of us.

I sought certification in the Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra method to increase ways to help others in meditation.

FIVE ELEMENT YOGA

Five Element Yoga is a potent practice of yoga postures, breathing, mudras (hand positions), creative expression, and yoga nidra (deep relaxation) that realigns you with the rhythms of nature. This exploration and celebration of yoga is rooted in Kripalu yoga, Ayurveda, and yoga therapy.

Earth, water, fire, air and ether (space) are the archetypal building blocks of our bodies, our energy, and everything in existence. Earth Element relates to groundedness and stability, sense of self, our connection to Mother Nature; Water Element relates to grace and fluidity of movement, adaptability, transitions in life; Fire Element relates to physical activity, personal empowerment , courage, vision; Air Element relates to breath, calmness, mindfulness, compassion; Ether (space) relates to stillness, spiritual consciousness, cerebral expansion, clarity of thought. By utilizing yoga asanas (postures) in a specific sequence that correspond to the qualities of each element, we can promote grounding, fluidity, vision, compassion, and expansion.

Five Element Yoga is like harmonizing a tuning fork with each of your internal elements.
